To have a wishbone
Cinderella said it best
” A dream is a wish our heart makes”
To have a backbone
Maya Angelou’s own words
” Poetry puts starch in your backbone so you can stand, so you can compose your life”
I must have a funny bone
I am lonely
I am a little bit scared
I sense you near
I hear your soft voice
I am driving late at night
I see a yellow butterfly
I watch the clouds in the sky
I am sipping Muscat Canelli (your Sunday favorite)
I see outlines of angel wings in the dark night
I am missing you dearly
I know that
Mom, I always knew how much you truly loved me
When overtaken by doubt
When hope faded
When fear took hold
When seized by exhaustion
When touched by a miracle
Lighted upon a sign
Who need them
What a waste of time
Future on hold
Glimpse into nothingness
Glance to emptiness
Longing toward freedom
I chose nothing but
To Look Forward
My daughter, Angelica, is the miracle I believe in.
(This miracle of mine is also quite a humorous girl. If you need more laughter in your life, please check out her funny blog, Comically Quirky!)
Some people come and go in our lives.
Others come to stay.
Some people leave a mark in our lives.
Others leave a trail.
Most people just pass through.
There are those people though,
No matter where we are in life,
Inspire us to be what we are today.
Thank you, DAD!
