A Tribute to My Mom

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has followed my mom Tink’s journey and provided her with hope, inspiration, and encouragement along the way.

On December 10th, heaven gained a beautiful new angel.

I am forever grateful to the overwhelming support and kindness we’ve experienced in this amazing blogosphere.

comically quirky

I never wanted to have to write this post.

And Iโ€™m struggling to do so now.

It was the first cloudless, bright sunny day after nearly a week of rain.

It was also the day my mom took her last breath.

Paradoxical as it may sound, it was still a beautiful day.

In a strange way.

Because it meant my mom was no longer in pain.

No longer spending every waking moment in agony.

No more excruciating daily struggles.

No more endless doctor appointments.

No more countless scans and blood work.

No more urgent trips to the hospital.

No more useless pills to try to mask the pain.

She is finally at peace.

Finally free of cancer.

Once and for all.

My heart aches with sadness.

But her suffering is over, and thatโ€™s what truly matters.

She is a survivor of war.

A recipient of miracles.

And the strongest, mostโ€ฆ

I am so sorry for your loss. Sometimes you get to feel someone so much even without ever seeing them. I loved her spirit and the smileys/emojis she used to comment on my posts. Ah I had been wondering where Tink my belle was. Thank you for sharing, I really wish she and all the Angels out there, comfort you during this difficult and emotionally tasking season.

And now am following you because I love humour. Am also an okayest mum (I borrow that from you and will be shopping for my own t-shirt too hahaha). All the best hun, I really loved your mum’s attitude to life. 3 words from her were worth more to me than a paragraph or more from others. Her emojis were always on point. Warm thoughts I got for your boys (kids) too.

I am so sorry for your pain. As time goes by, you will find that she is, and always will be, with you and your family. You will never stop missing her, but you will know that her love shines on all of you. I am so glad that I had the chance to get to know her and love her. We love you all with all our hearts and our hearts weep for you. The tears will come and go, but her love for you, and our love for you will last forever. God bless you precious daughter-in-law. ๐Ÿ’”

Mine will have been gone three months on Christmas Eve. Oddly, itโ€™s not cancer I hate as much as what it does and the treatments.
I know where you are right now, sending my love your way.

I’m ‘liking’ this post, although I don’t ‘like’ it at all.
Sending bear hugs your way. I know she is watching over you and is still with you always.
Happy new year! May this year bring peace and blessings your way… You’re worth it.
